DAY 21
TRAINING GROUND
Proverbs 22:6
The best way to train a child is to expose them to people who could be a good example for them. Who should these people be? It’s the parents themselves.
Working fathers can teach their children about the necessity of hard work and about the need to show up on time and stick to a job. A working parent can also introduce them to a rather simple device that all of us hate but that most of us have learned to live with- an alarm clock. Getting up when you’re tired and going to school or work is not something that comes naturally to anyone. It’s something that kids have to learn at home. (from Come on People)
Thanks to our parents for teaching us those simple things that turns out to be one of the vitals in life. Back when we’re still young we abhor teachings and disciplines. We find our parents to be hard on us but now we know they’d prepared us for the real thing.
May this be our reflector for our present sufferings. God is equipping us (since we are His beloved children) for further glory. Let us bear His sweet discipline, then.
As we bear God’s discipline, here are some words from Joseph Addison. “I do not believe that sheer suffering teaches. If suffering alone taught, all the world would be wise, since everyone suffers. To suffering must be added mourning, understanding, love, openness, and willingness to remain vulnerable.”
TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
