DAY 2

PROPER PERSPECTIVE THAT COMES FROM HUMILITY

Luke 15:17-19

If the prodigal son did not humble himself and continue to harden his heart because of pride, even he was in that very disappointing and disgusting part of his life, he could never see the proper perspective in life specifically on where he was currently at. He would never recognize that he still had a father who can give him a lot better life than what he had at that very moment. Worst is, that prodigal son will never recognize that he sinned against the father.

Most of the time, the pride in our heart covers the fact that we are already giving ourselves too much credit in everything. Be it in a challenging situation or more so, in a “things go well” situations. If we are eaten by pride, we end up thinking that we are the only correct person, the reasonable person and best person in this whole world. Even God, doesn’t matter at all.

Did you see yourself in a situation wherein you know that something is wrong but you don’t want to listen because you think that what you feel is what really matters? If this is our heart, then we are being blinded in of the proper perspective in life.

The prodigal son never let the pride in his heart to stay forever. Instead he allowed humility to rule over his heart. Because of his decision to embrace humility in his heart, the truth became clear to him… the truth that he starved to death, that he still have an option to go home and work for his father even just for him to feed himself, that he wants to go back and ask forgiveness for the sins that he committed to his father and that he still have an option to correct his life.

Humility enables us to appreciate the circumstances, the hardships, the success and everything we attained in life as well as the people who also helped to make it possible.
